Valley of Ourika
Situated 30km from the city, the Valley of Ourika extends along the foot of the Atlas mountains, amongst the highest of the Moroccan mountains. An extraordinary natural environment populated by authentic Berber people who have guarded their ancient traditions, costumes and food.
34km further on you arrive at Douar of Tnine of the Ourika another of the enchanting villages of this region, renowned for its souk (market) held every Monday.
Approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes by car from Marrakech it is a noted tourist destination by the sea. Features of the city are its Medina and fish market, where putting aside any prejudices you can enjoy fresh grilled fish chosen by yourself from the stalls.

The Jbel Toubkal in tamazight 'Adrar n Tougshal', is the highest mountain in Morocco and North Africa, at 4,165 metres you can see everything! It is located 63kms south of Marrakech in the Toubkal National Park.
The first europeans to climb the Toubkal were the Marquis of Zegonzac, Vincent Berger and Hubert Dolbeau on June 12, 1923.
In winter you can ski you can ski at Oukaïmedén near the summit, covering 3,000 hectares of land on the north side of the mountain situated 2620 and 3270 metres above sea level.
The ski facilities are available between mid December until mid March but best be informed because prevailing snow conditions are not always guaranteed .
75% of the slopes have technical difficulties , and are aimed exclusively at expert skiers; the rest is dedicated to beginners and average skiers .
In 2010, more than 2,000 journalists from all over the world gathered atop Oukaimeden , thanks to the initiative of the International Ski Club of Journalists ( SCIJ ).
