The Mariam Room ("Beloved" in Arabic) - Our crown jewel, perched on the top floor with its own exclusive balcony overlooking the courtyard.
This luxurious, uniquely appointed, air-conditioned double room features a four-poster bed, a writing table and a large, uniquely designed bathroom with shower, his and her washbasins, hairdryer, and locally sourced, organic toiletries. The Mariam is a world apart, the perfect retreat for a honeymoon, anniversary, or simply for a romantic getaway.
Iman - Tranquil Two-Room Suite
The Iman Suite ("Faith" in Arabic) - Overlooking the courtyard, this elegant, air-conditioned, two-room suite features local furniture, a writing desk, a unique ensuite bathroom with shower, hair dryer and locally sourced, organic toiletries. There is a second room large enough for an additional bed. All rooms come with hair dryer, safe deposit box and a view of the inner courtyard.
Each of our suites is uniquely designed. The Iman suite can host up to three guests and is ideal for small families.
Fatima - Luxurious Two-Room Suite
The Fatima Suite ("Captivating" in Arabic) - Overlooking the courtyard, this elegant, air-conditioned, two-room suite features local furniture, a writing desk, a unique ensuite bathroom with shower, hair dryer and locally sourced, organic toiletries. Aisha - Intimate Single Accommodation

This single room harmoniously blends traditional charm with modern comfort, featuring air conditioning, built-in wardrobe, private bathroom with walk-in shower, professional hairdryer, and locally sourced, organic toiletries. A Historic Haven Reimagined for Modern Travelers
Riad La Cigale has been a family house since 1600 and a guest house since 1992, when two Italian designers, using traditional materials and methods, transformed this 17th century Moroccan home into a unique and peaceful retreat in the heart of the medina. Our five distinctive rooms, each with a uniquely designed en-suite bathroom, seamlessly blend Moroccan architectural tradition and modern comfort. In 2025, Masha and Steven oversaw a new renovation of our courtyard, salon, library and two rooftop terraces. Respecting sustainability and Moroccan tradition, our French-Moroccan designer created new furniture, added traditional hssira wall coverings, and crafted an intimate, 1001 nights curtained terrace, perfect for sunset dinners overlooking the Atlas mountains and Koutoubia mosque. Add to this, the sound of Coltrane or Billy Holiday from Steven’s collection of 50’s and 60’s vinyls, and you have a perfectly serene place to return to, even while only five-minutes from Jmaa el-Fnaa, the historic center of Marrakech and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
At Riad la Cigale, we are always here to guide you to the best shops, markets, and restaurants, to offer advice and arrange travel, and to ensure that your experience of Morocco is magical, safe and surprising. We offer every guest a hearty breakfast, with homemade bread, fresh squeezed juice and Moroccan specialties. Lunch and dinner, too, are available – a variety of Tajines, Tangias, and couscous dishes, with fresh and prepared salads and a variety of desserts, all prepared to order by our amazing in-house chef. And if you book one of our personalized cooking classes, you can learn the secrets of Moroccan spices, create a Tagine or Tangia, and enjoy the fruits of your labor by candlelight on our rooftop terrace. And please pamper yourself at our spa/hammam with one of our rejuvenating Moroccan beauty treatments and or facials and massages (complete with black soap and argan oil).
